How it all began
“Edward asked me on a date, Bonfire Night 2015, in front of the University of Southampton Library. It is now my favourite place!”

“The first time I saw Shannon she was sat outside our lecture hall because she missed the lecture. I knew she was my kind of girl!”

For our anniversary, Ed whisked me away for a weekend in London, promising a show and dinner—little did I know, the main event was yet to come. We kicked off with 'Phantom of the Opera', our favourite musical, which was as thrilling as ever, followed by a meal that was nothing short of splendid.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Edward realized he'd forgotten his suit. His panic was a bit of a puzzle—after all, how many suits does one need to watch a man in a mask sing? But all became clear the next day. We ventured out into London for an emergency suit-buying expedition (ouch on the wallet, but the man did need to look sharp). Suitably attired, we glammed up and headed to Aqua, a rooftop bar known for its breathtaking views of London’s skyline.
As the fireworks burst into the November sky, painting it with bursts of colour, Edward dropped to one knee. Amidst the explosions of light, he declared his love, making it feel as though time had stopped around us. It was as if we were alone in the heart of the bustling city, with only the fireworks as witnesses.
It truly was the best weekend ever, turning an anniversary celebration into a magical, unforgettable engagement.
